Going on late summer vacations is a fun and beautiful activity for you and your family. Soon enough, you will need to travel to your grandmother’s house for Thanksgiving. When parking for this trip you will include your favorite items, whether it’s a pair of shoes or pajamas. As you park, you may forget to carry dental hygiene tools. These tools are important if you want to maintain your oral health while enjoying your summer. Some of the four vital tools you need to include in your travel kit are as follows.

1. Toothpaste and toothbrush

These are the basic tools required for cleaning your teeth daily. Therefore, you should include them in your travel kit. You can carry travel-sized pastes and brushes that fit in your travel kit easily. Travel sized pastes and brushes are convenient, especially if you are not going away for a long time. They are easily foldable and can be fitted into a carry-on bag. These two are a must-have as you enjoy your stay at grandmas.

2. Flossers

Flossers are crucial to your oral health, especially if you are on the go with children. While you are on vacation, ensure you include a pack of flossers in your travel kit or carry-on bag. They are ready-to-grab and easy to use. Flossers are used to get rid of any excess plaque, or food particle stuck in your teeth. You may have brushed your teeth, but some food particles get stuck in between your teeth. Use a flosser to get in between these spaces. Also, remember to include a pack of floss to use while on the trip.

3. Mouthwash

Mouthwash comes in handy when you are on the road or a plane and do not have time to brush your teeth. If you have a flight that will take more than five hours, you need to carry mouthwash. Mouthwash will help kill and eliminate all the germs and bacteria that have built up in your teeth. If you experience bad breath, you can also use mouthwash to give you a fresh breath. There are travel sized mouthwashes that you can pack in your carry-on bag to use while on the plane. The mouthwash is also useful when you land and have no time to go back to your hotel or Airbnb to freshen up.

4. Sugar-Free Gum

Carrying chewing gum while on vacation may sound crazy, but it has a lot of added benefits. If you are using air travel, chewing gum helps to eliminate the plugged ear feeling of landing and taking off. Chewing gum also increases the production of saliva in your mouth that is essential for dissolving acids and fighting dry mouth. Gum also gives you a fresh breath after a long flight and a good taste in your mouth. Ensure you pack sugar free gum with you to reduce the likelihood and the production of tooth cavities.

Packing for your summer vacation can get intense and overwhelming. It can be even more stressful when you reach your destination and discover you have many items back at home. To avoid this, from occurring, note down a list of the must-haves on the trip. Ensure this list also contains your dental hygiene tools. You can pack while ticking off the list to ensure all items are included and you do not forget anything.
